Старые фотографии Лимассола

В нашей подборке фотографий – облик Лимассола XX века. Давайте посмотрим, как изменился этот приморский город в течение прошлого столетия. 

Так называемая «улица с арками» была расположена неподалеку от лимассольского замка, ныне она называется улица Dimitri Mitropoulou (начинается от центра обслуживания граждан (КЕП). В эпоху турецкого владычества здесь действовал базар.

Один из самых старых снимков Лимассола. Сделан, предположительно, с крыши лимассольского замка.

Так выглядел Лимассол с высоты птичьего полета в 1946 году.

Во времена турецкого владычества в Лимассоле было открыто 11 турецких бань – хамамов. Сейчас они не используется, но здания сохранились.

На этой фотографии 1900 года изображена гостиница «Европа», которая проработала всего несколько лет. Затем в этом здании разместился госпиталь, который работал до 1923 года, уступив место богадельне. С 1950 года в здании располагался детский приют. Оно было снесено в 1993 году, а участок под ним превращен в известную всем муниципальную парковку района Энаэриос.

Из района Энаериос лимассольский госпиталь переехал в здание на улице Анексартисиас, где сегодня располагается администрация. На фото – открытие больницы. С 1950 года началось строиться более просторное и современное здание для больницы, известное сегодня как «старый госпиталь». Поскольку его открытие совпало с годом коронации королевы Елизаветы II, то он до 1960 года назывался Coronation Hospital.

На этой фотографии изображено здание частной клиники Марии Русу, которая открылась в начале 1930-х годов. Мария Русу была первой на Кипре женщиной-врачом. За прием она никогда не брала денег, помогая людям безвозмездно. Клиника закрылась в 1938 году, когда Русу уехала в Европу.

Площадь вокруг лимассольского замка вплоть до 1980-х гг. особо не привлекала посетителей и туристов. Все пространство было застроено небольшими домиками, складами и магазинами. Дело в том, что вплоть до 1974 года здесь была тюрьма, которая использовалась по назначению сначала османскими правителями, затем колониальной администрацией, а потом и молодым кипрским государством.

Площадь Куннапьяс – это часть того Лимассола, который мы потеряли. На ее месте был построен второй муниципальный рынок, преобразованный сегодня в театр ENA. Площадь получила свое название от южного дерева зизифус, которое росло прямо в центре.

В начале ХХ века на набережной Лимассола было возведено необычное для Кипра и очень модное здание, принадлежавшее семье Уитфилд. В 1920 году здание было продано Китийской митрополии, у которой его взял в аренду кипрский предприниматель Иоаннидис. По его инициативе там открылась гостиница «Вена», которая в 1930-е года отошла другому кипрскому миллионеру – Христосу Милонасу. Он провел ребрендинг и открыл в здании отель «Континенталь». Сегодня это здание до сих пор можно увидеть в Лимассоле, но его изначальный вид изменен практически до неузнаваемости.

Строительство муниципального рынка в Лимассоле было задумано еще в 1879 году, хотя здание для его нужд было построено только в 1917. В 1947 году оно приобрело вид, просуществовавший более 70 лет. Открывшись после реконструкции в 2020 г., рынок стал модным городским пространством для отдыха.

Здание, в котором сегодня расположен Технологический университет Кипра, изначально строилось как школа для девочек. Оно было возведено в 1912 году.

Церковь Айя-Напа на набережной Лимассола начала строиться в 1891 году по проекту греческого архитектора, а была освящена в начале ХХ века. В 1910 году сравняли с землей старый храм, который располагался вблизи собора. К сожалению, эту потерю уже ничем не восполнить.

До прихода на остров англичан у Лимассола не было набережной. Более того, ее необходимость особо не ощущалась жителями. Дома строились по примеру Ближнего Востока – выходя своими толстыми стенами к морю, создавая образ неприступной крепости.

Склады Феодосиу, расположенные там, где сегодня работает кафе Thalassokoritso, до 1995 г. оставались весьма характерной лимассольской достопримечательностью. К сожалению, они были снесены, воспринимаясь как препятствие созданию нового образа туристического города-курорта.

Дом Кристалии Павлиди был построен в конце XIX века и изначально принадлежал одному из самых состоятельных людей Кипра того времени – торговцу М. Гавриилидису. В 1922 году дом отошел в качестве приданого его единственной дочери – Кристалии, которая сочеталась браком с другим известным предпринимателем того времени, Павлом Павлидисом.

На этой фотографии 1960-х гг. изображено очень популярное среди туристов и жителей города место для отдыха. На заднем плане расположено известное заведение «Кастелла». Сегодня на этом месте не менее любимый публикой ресторан-бар La Isla.

C 1930 г. набережная Лимассола, которая к тому моменту существовала уже несколько десятков лет, была разделена на три части для дальнейшего благоустройства. В 1970 году архитектор Александрос Димитриу разработал план насыпного прогулочного участка, который получил название «молос». С момента своего строительства это одно из самых притягательных мест города.

В конце 40-х годов прошлого века на окраине Лимассола был построен винодельческий завод ЕТКО. Он действовал здесь до 1971 года. Сегодня на этом месте стоит жилой комплекс Olympic Residence. В память о заводе перед высотными зданиями построена кирпичная труба, которая напоминает об истории этого места.

Лимассол славен не только храмами, но и своими мечетями. «Джами джедид» (арабск. «новая мечеть») была построена в 1825 году напротив храма св. Антония. Причиной строительства стал обет, данный лимассольцем Хаджи Ибрагимом Агой Копрулу. Он обещал, что если вернется живым с войны, то построит в своем районе мусульманский храм.

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not
