Древние греки, тамплиеры и истоки банковской системы Кипра

В феврале Alpha Bank должен определиться с выбором компании, которая возьмет на себя его «токсичные кредиты». Их сумма составляет 3,7 млрд евро. Об этом сегодня сообщает издание «Филелефтерос».

Интерес к сотрудничеству с банком уже проявил ряд компаний, давно работающих на кипрском рынке, равно как и крупные фирмы из-за границы. Среди претендентов называются Altamira, B2Holdings, APS, Pepper, Resolute, Qualco и Alvarez&Marsal. Тот, на кого падет выбор руководства, получит в управление необслуживаемые кредиты самого Alpha Bank и его «дочки» AGI Cypre Ermis.

Это соглашение станет вторым крупнейшим договором такого рода, после передачи «токсичных кредитов» Кооперативного банка (их стоимость составляла 6,2 млрд евро) холдингу Altamira.

Немного истории

Банковская система возникла на Кипре много веков назад. Будучи частью греко-римского мира, а в Средние века – мира Средневековой Европы, Кипр был одной из стран развития банковского дела.

В VII веке до н.э. на территории Малой Азии, в Лидийском царстве, впервые начали чеканить золотую и серебряную монету. Это изобретение быстро переняли греческие города, каждый из которых стал выпускать свою собственную монету. Следовательно, возникла потребность в том, чтобы менять одну валюту на другую. За обмен обычно взималась комиссия 5–6%, однако известны случаи, когда она доходила до 10 и даже 25%. Менялы сидели за столами, которые по-древнегречески назывались «трапеза». Это слово сохранилось в греческом языке в значении «банк».

Обмен валюты до этого осуществлялся и в государствах Ближнего Востока, в частности, в Финикии, которая оказывала большое влияние на древнее кипрское царство. Однако именно греки сделали следующий шаг в банковских операциях: менялы принялись осуществлять денежные переводы, начали прием денежных средств на хранение и открыли для себя возможность использования этих вкладов для кредитования третьих лиц.

Депозиты принимались под 10%, кредиты выдавались под более высокий процент — 18% считались вполне стандартной ставкой. Ссуды обеспечивались поручительством, залогом имущества, в отдельных случаях землей. Наиболее распространенной операцией являлись «морские кредиты», то есть выдача денег на осуществление морских торговых экспедиций под залог товаров или корабля.

В Средние века, когда Кипр стал вотчиной рыцарских орденов (сначала тамлиеров, а затем иоаннитов), европейская банковская система получила новый импульс в развитии. Произошло это благодаря упомянутым церковным организациям, в первую очередь, ордену тамплиеров, которые создали по всей Европе настоящую банковскую сеть.

После освобождения крестоносцами Иерусалима и других областей Святой Земли, количество паломников, желающих посетить места, где разворачивались события библейской истории, резко возросло. Путешествия в то время были занятием продолжительным и опасным, паломникам была необходима стража. Эту функцию (сопровождение пилигримов и их защиту от разбойников) взяли на себя рыцари-храмовники, которые были преобразованы из монашеской в полувоенную организацию.

Человек, отправлявшийся в путешествие, всегда мог доверить тамплиерам не только свою жизнь, но и свое имущество. Таким образом, в руках ордена сконцентрировалось огромное количество активов, которыми они управляли. Именно тамплиеры первыми придумали систему безналичного расчета — рыцари принимали от клиентов денежные средства, а взамен выписывали специальную бумагу, удостоверяющую наличие средств в определенном размере. Соответственно, обладая чеками ордена тамплиеров, можно было путешествовать между странами с меньшим риском, обналичивая расписки в представительствах ордена. Кроме того, у ордена всегда можно было взять кредит, ставка по которому составляла всего 10%.

Помимо чековых расчетов тамплиеры разработали систему бухгалтерского учета, принцип двойной записи и даже систему сложных процентов. Все это до сих пор используется в банковской системе.

    1            Application of terms

    3            Definitions

    In these Terms:

    Loss includes loss of profits, savings, revenue or data, and any other claim, damage, loss, liability and cost, including legal costs on a solicitor and own client basis

    personal information means information about an identifiable, living person

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    4.3 You indemnify us against all Loss we suffer or incur as a direct or indirect result of your failure to comply with these Terms.

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
