Секреты гончарного дела

Слава кипрской керамики достигла Европы примерно в конце XIV века. Кипр даже называли «островом пифари» – гигантских глиняных кувшинов, использовавшихся для транспортировки и хранения вина, уксуса, масла и воды. Сегодня самыми знаменитыми деревнями гончаров считаются Корнос и Фини. До турецкого вторжения 1974 года в этом списке были еще и Лапитос, Айос Димитриос, Каминарья и другие деревни в районе Фамагусты.

В течение столетий в окрестностях деревни Фини (Троодос) добывали удивительного качества глину. Насыщенная медью и серебром, она имела благородный красно-коричневый оттенок. Кувшины из нее получались легкие и очень прочные, а благодаря антисептическим свойствам медной глины в этих кувшинах долго не прокисало вино, не портилось оливковое масло, а в муке и крупе не заводились моль и жучки.

С годами мастерство гончаров из Фини оттачивалось, и потому популярность кувшинов из этого района росла не только по всему Кипру, но и в соседних странах! Из деревни регулярно выезжали запряженные лошадьми телеги, в которых аккуратно были сложены эти прекрасные творения местных гончаров. Кувшины везли кипрским заказчикам или в порты, чтобы затем на кораблях отправить их на восточные или европейские рынки.

РАЗНООБРАЗИЕ ГОНЧАРНЫХ ТРАДИЦИЙ

Традиции гончаров из разных районов Кипра имели свои особенности. Например, в деревне Лапитос изделия из глины покрывали разноцветными глазурями и рисунками. Для росписи кувшинов использовались древние геометрические узоры, образы птиц, рыб и людей.

В районе Фамагусты глиняные изделия традиционно покрывались глазурью белого цвета. Наверное, самыми необычными и известными глиняными изделиями из этого района являлись антропоморфные – выполненные в форме человеческих фигур – сосуды. Эти глиняные изделия пользовались большим спросом у посещающих Кипр купцов из Европы, поэтому до сих пор археологи во время раскопок на территориях европейских стран обнаруживают эти уникальные кипрские кувшины!

МУЗЕЙ ГОНЧАРНОГО ИСКУССТВА ФИНИ

В Фини расположен уникальный частный музей керамики, в котором представлены образцы гончарных изделий, традиционного сельскохозяйственного инвентаря и кухонных принадлежностей.

Основал музей Феофанис Пилавакис. Уроженец Кипра, он долгое время жил в Великобритании. Вернувшись на родину, Феофанис поселился в родной деревне, и вскоре выяснилось, что он – один из последних мастеров на Кипре, знающий секреты создания знаменитых глиняных горшков пифари. Когда-то востребованные, они постепенно стали уходить из кипрского быта, а вместе с ними исчезали секреты их изготовления.

Феофанис стал собирать по деревням оставшиеся с прошлых времен предметы быта, большое внимание уделяя изготовленной из местной глины посуде и, конечно же, гигантским горшкам пифари. В его коллекции около десятка этих уникальных кувшинов, которые сейчас считаются культурным наследием Кипра и запрещены к вывозу с острова!

Создание такого сосуда – длительный процесс, требующий знаний состава глины, отточенного глазомера и невероятного терпения. На заключительной стадии изделия обжигают в огромной печи. Немаловажным для мастера является безупречное знание того, из какой именно глины должны быть изготовлены дно, середина и горлышко этого огромного кувшина, иначе при обжиге пифари может лопнуть!

Спрос на пифари в свое время был очень большим, особенно в период, когда созревал очередной урожай винограда. Как успеть изготовить одновременно большое количество огромных кувшинов? А если делать их заранее, то где хранить? И как потом в срочном порядке доставить их виноградарю? Феофанис Пилавакис раскрыл нам эту тайну: оказывается, иногда огромные кувшины пифари делали… прямо на территории заказчика! Конечно, этому предшествовали определенные подготовительные работы, главной из которых было сооружение печи. Глину завозили из района Фини, а производство сначала налаживали там, где виноград поспевает раньше, то есть в селениях, расположенных ближе к морю. По мере созревания винограда в более высоких областях мастера забирались все выше в горы.

Секреты полного цикла производства этих необычных гончарных изделий сегодня известны только Феофанису Пилавакису. Он продемонстрировал их, изготовив кипрский пифари на территории теперешнего музея. Этот огромный кувшин, вероятно, последний в истории Кипра, вы можете увидеть здесь, в печи, в которой он и был обожжен в 2001 году.

Напомним, что в рамках мер по профилактике распространения коронавируса музеи, археологические памятники и парки останутся закрытыми для посетителей до дальнейших распоряжений правительства.     1            Application of terms

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
