Семья, купившая здание для мэрии

Знаменитый музей Ларнаки, старая больница и даже… первый на Кипре автомобиль. Все эти вехи в истории города и страны связаны с фамилией одной семьи – Пиеридис. Благодарную память о меценатах Ларнака хранит до сих пор.

Еванфия Пиериду родилась в 1867 году. Она была младшей из семи детей Иоанниса Пиеридиса, владельца крупного торгового дома. После смерти всех своих братьев и сестер Еванфия стала единоличной владелицей семейного состояния. Фамильные богатства она направила в пользу города.

Благотворительность и после кончины

Еванфия Пиериду посвятила свою жизнь служению нуждающимся, бедным семьям, неимущим ученикам. Все они получали помощь от нее вне зависимости от своего происхождения и вероисповедания. В 1933 году на средства Еванфии Пиериду и в память о двух ее братьях была построена ларнакская больница. Сегодня она именуется старой больницей Ларнаки, и в ближайшем времени в историческом здании больницы разместится мэрия города. Эта выдающаяся женщина смогла так организовать помощь своим согражданам, что даже сегодня, спустя 88 лет после ее кончины, город продолжает получать прибыль от ее имущества. И все эти средства идут на социальные проекты. Как такое возможно? В своем завещании Еванфия Пиериду передала городу фамильный дом на набережной Финикудес, запретив его сносить (сегодня это здание легко обнаружить на набережной Ларнаки, в нем расположен ресторан «Архондикон»).

Часть доходов от сдачи здания в аренду должны были идти на поддержание постройки в хорошем состоянии, а другая часть – на лечение пациентов городской больницы. И эта схема продолжает работать! Здание сдают в аренду, оно в прекрасном состоянии. А доход от него идет в пользу больницы. По словам президента благотворительного фонда Еванфии Пиериду Одиссеаса Хаджистефану, недавно на счет больницы, благодаря доходам от здания, было перечислено 420 000 евро для покупки нового оборудования.

Завещание в действии

Хотя помещения старой больницы в скором времени будут перепрофилированы, это не станет нарушением воли Еванфии Пиериди. Доходы от сдачи в аренду здания муниципальным службам пойдут в благотворительный фонд Еванфии Пиериду, на благо жителей Ларнаки. В частности, на эти деньги будет обеспечено функционирование городской больницы. Согласно завещанию, в управляющий совет фонда должны обязательно входить глава региональной администрации Ларнаки (на правах президента фонда), главный врач больницы (на правах казначея фонда, чтобы потребности лечебного учреждения были известны напрямую), мэр города, митрополит Китийский, два члена семьи Пиеридисов и лица, назначенные Министерством здравоохранения.

Здание мэрии: из рук в руки

Завещание благодетельницы также запрещает фонду брать или давать кредиты и закладывать дом в ипотеку. Перед тем, как в историческое здание въедет муниципалитет, ансамбль старой больницы отреставрируют. Стоимость работ оценивается в 7 млн евро. Деньги будут получены после того, как город продаст участок земли, на котором стоит прежнее здание муниципалитета. Этот участок с особняком на нем в свое время тоже купила Еванфия Пиериду, которая затем подарила землю и здание городу для обустройства там мэрии. Само здание ранее принадлежало семье Мозера, которые были в родстве с Пиеридисами.

11 поколений на службе Отечеству

Семья Пиеридис происходила с Ионических островов, но в Ларнаке они обосновались еще в 1753 году. С тех пор сменилось 11 поколений людей, верой и правдой служивших своей малой родине. «Все они стали предпринимателями, но при этом не были чужды культуре и искусству. Благодаря их заботам, например, был открыт музей Пиеридиса, куплены древние экспонаты, а множество памятников Кипра спасены от незаконного вывоза», – рассказывает нынешний глава династии и президент Фонда Пиеридиса (не путать с упомянутым выше благотворительным фондом Еванфии Пиериду) Димитрис Пиеридис.

Основатель музея – Димитрис Пиеридис – родился в 1811 году на Кипре. Через несколько лет его отец, вместе с 200 представителями кипрской интеллигенции, был зверски убит на приеме у турецкого наместника. Мать с двумя сыновьями укрылась в британском представительстве, а затем вывезла детей в Англию. Получив британское образование, Димитрис Пиеридис вернулся на Кипр и всю жизнь посвятил собиранию и изучению культурного наследия, флоры и фауны острова. Музей Пиеридиса располагается в частном доме в центре Ларнаки. Хранилище – всего 4 зала. Но какие!

Достояние стало доступным для всех

В 1974 году семья приняла решение открыть сокровищницы своей частной коллекции для всеобщего посещения. С тех пор двери фамильной резиденции Пиеридис в Ларнаке распахнуты для всех, кто интересуется историей и культурой острова времен античности. А прекрасный особняк, где располагается частная семейная коллекция, считается одним из наиболее важных музеев острова. В 2020 году это учреждение культуры стало участником проекта «Статуи, рассказывающие историю».

А ещё, благодаря именно семье Пиеридис, на Кипр попал первый автомобиль. Эта знаменитая история датируется 1907 годом.

Строитель и меценат

Еванфия Пиериду была очень умной, сильной женщиной. Управляла огромным состоянием, которое она использовала для покупки земельных участков под свои благотворительные проекты. Память о ней хранится в тех зданиях, которые появились на ее средства: в ее родном доме (том самом, средства от которого идут на больницу), в здании старой больницы, в церкви Пресвятой Богородицы Златомолочной (Хрисогалактусы). На земле Еванфии строится новое здание муниципального рынка, а в доме ее сестры открыта первая богадельня Ларнаки. Еванфия также пожертвовала по 300 фунтов каждому учебному заведению города и по 250 фунтов каждой городской церкви. И все это она делала одна на протяжении 13 лет, пока управляла наследством, доставшимся ей от отца. О таком подвиге нельзя забывать, да это и невозможно – очень многое в Ларнаке напоминает о Еванфии Пиериду.

    1            Application of terms

    4            Your obligations

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
