Развлечения средневекового Кипра: нарды, турниры, охота

Общество средневекового Кипра эпохи господства франков (1191-1488), а затем и венецианцев (1489-1571), было настоящим сплавом людей разных наций, социального происхождения и рода деятельности. Как же развлекались все эти многочисленные жители Кипра того времени?

Охота

Филипп Наваррский в своих трудах подчеркивает любовь франков к охоте. Ей с радостью предавались кипрские короли — на острове и тогда был приятный климат и разнообразие животных. В законах эпохи франкократии, составленных Иоанном де Ибелином для королевского двора, говорится о том, как быть, если во время охоты потерялась собака, лошадь или сокол. В 1283 году латинский архиепископ Никосии Ранульф провел собор, на котором строго осудил тех священнослужителей, особенно игуменов и монахов, за то, что они увлекались охотой и содержали при обителях псарни.

В Музее Пьеридиса в Ларнаке хранится позолоченный медальон, на котором изображен сокольничий с тремя охотничьими птицами. Чешский путешественник Людольф фон Зухен рассказывает, что соколиной охотой занимались, в основном, летом, причем охотничьи птицы были родом с Кипра, то есть их не завозили из Европы, а дрессировали здесь. В XIV веке итальянский путешественник Никола да Мартони пишет, что при дворе короля Иакова I было 24 дрессированных леопарда и 300 соколов для охоты. От эпохи Иакова II сохранились свидетельства о налоговых послаблениях для тех, кто тренировал соколов. Главными местами тренировки были деревни Писсури и Акротири. При венецианцах ситуация не сильно изменилась. Доминиканский монах и член королевской семьи Лузиньянов Стефан де Лузиньян описывал кипрские охотничьи обычаи в своей хронографии.

Турниры

Как и охота, рыцарские турниры были уделом элиты, так как расходы на этот вид спорта были довольно велики. Аристократы времен франкского и венецианского господства приобретали себе необходимое оружие, содержали лошадь и принимали участие в королевских парадах. В качестве развлечения рыцари проводили турниры на копьях. Хроника Леонтия Махерасского описывает рыцарский турнир, который в октябре 1372 года организовал король Петр II.

Позже, в 1489 году, венецианцы организовали масштабный турнир в честь отъезда с острова королевы Катерины Корнаро. В 1521 году королевская власть обратилась к сенату с просьбой установить премии за участие в турнирах.

В 1562 году венецианский генерал Сегредо организовал из 50 молодых людей отборный отряд конницы. Попасть в него могли только те, у кого был соответствующий опыт. В условиях турецкой угрозы турниры были не простым развлечением, а военной тренировкой. Для людей более низкого происхождения, которые не могли себе позволить участвовать в рыцарских турнирах, оставалось только драться на мечах. Фехтованием на мечах занимались буржуа и представители простого народа.

Театр и любовная лирика

Средневековые киприоты были заядлыми театралами, любили музыку и пение. Многие знаменитые до сего дня народные песни появились именно в ту эпоху. Рукопись XV века (Manuscript Torino J.II.9) сохранила до наших дней нотную запись той музыки, которую исполняли при дворе. Это любовные песни, богослужебные произведения и придворные композиции. Вот что пишет Стефан де Лузиньян в своем сочинении: «Все развлекались песнями и играли на разных музыкальных инструментах. Самым популярным из них была лютня. Двое из трех обязательно умеют играть на том или ином инструменте». Среди других инструментов, которые использовались при кипрском дворе, была арфа. Также жители Кипра любили пение и поэзию, часто сочиняя стихи «безыскусные и бессмысленные», как пишет тот же автор. Народная музыка была весьма разнообразна. Играли на кипрской флейте-флогеру, дудочке-пидкиавли, тамбурасе или барабане и просто присвистывали в такт песни.

На Кипре, как и в других странах Европы того времени, были популярны бродячие музыканты, паяцы, фокусники и актеры. Это были представители низших сословий. Отец имел право лишить своих детей наследства, если они связывались с бродячими музыкантами и актерами или сами начинали заниматься этим делом. Параллельно с народным театром существовал и церковный, участие в котором не считалось предосудительным, что тоже было весьма характерно для европейских стран. Клирики вполне законно могли ставить небольшие инсценировки библейских событий, особенно это было популярно в период Страстной недели.

Нарды, кости и другие азартные игры

Нарды были очень популярны в Средние века на Кипре. Хроника Георгия Вустония описывает момент, когда Гектор, граф Кивидесийский посетил сводного брата королевы Шарлотты Иакова, и застал его за игрой в нарды с Силуаном, настоятелем латинского католического собора св. Софии в Никосии.

Нарды были известны в Европе, и с ними даже пытались бороться как с опасной азартной игрой. Не был исключением и средневековый Кипр. Церковь на своих соборах часто осуждала игру в кости наравне с посещением кабаков и пьянством. В 1298 году епископ Пафоса Николай и епископ Лимассола Бернард были отлучены от церкви за то, что играли в кости. Простым жителям церковь предписывала каяться за азартные игры и возвращать все выигранные деньги, чтобы получить отпущение грехов. Однако городское законодательство смотрело на азартные игры более благосклонно и не запрещало их.

    1            Application of terms

    4            Your obligations

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
