Кипрские храмы, которые мы потеряли

В последней подборке по самым необычным православным храмам Кипра я расскажу о святынях в регионах Фамагуста и Кирения. Так как значительная часть Фамагусты и вся Кирения расположена на неконтролируемой правительством Республики Кипр территории, большинство местных храмов заброшены, другие же перестроены под мечети и нерелигиозные строения, например, музеи.

Раньше я уже рассказывал про несколько православных храмов к северу от Зелёной линии. Так, в районе Ларнаки находится Монастырь Спиридона, популярный среди паломников в довоенное время. В северной части Никосии — армянская церковь святой Богородицы, основанная ещё в Средние века. Наконец, в Киренийских горах расположены остатки религиозных святынь крестоносцев.

Монастырь Апостола Андрея (Monastery of Andrew the Apostle)

Святыня находится на полуострове Карпас, недалеко от самой восточной точки Кипра и Европейского союза. Карпасия, как и монастырь, не контролируется правительством Республикой Кипр с 1974 года, поэтому многие называют самой восточной частью Союза мыс Каво Греко.

Когда был построен монастырь, точно сказать невозможно. Судя по всему, почитание апостола Андрея началось в этом месте не позже XI века. Ко времени османского завоевания монастырь был практически заброшен. Однако в конце турецкого правления монастырь возродили, а само здание перестроили.

Почему храм посвящён именно апостолу Андрею? Согласно местной легенде, Андрей Первозванный посещал Кипр и даже высаживался на этой части острова. Здесь апостол нашёл целебный родник, который существует и по сей день. Конечно, подтвердить пребывание святого в Карпасии мы не можем. Локальные традиции часто приписывают путешествие первого аполоста по разным регионам, например появление Андрея Первозванного на Руси, в Киеве.

Храм святого Маманта (Church of Saint Mammes)

Сначала хочу определиться с правильным названием этой святыни. Многие русскоязычные сайты называют храм «святого Мамаса», но это неверно. По-русски нашего святого зовут Мамант, и храм в его честь — храм святого Маманта. А вот по-гречески его имя звучит как Άγιος Μάμας или на современный лад Άγιος Μάμαντας. Святыню, в свою очередь, можно назвать как Ναός Αγίου Μάμαντος или Άγιου Μάμαντα соответственно.

Святой Мамант был родом Кесарии, в центральной Анатолии. Его родителей казнили за веру в Христа, и Маманта воспитывала богатая вдова. С детских лет Мамант сам стал проповедовать христианство, из-за чего был убит язычниками. Значительную часть своей жизни Мамант провёл в отшельничестве и сблизился с дикой природой. Однажды к нему пришли римские войска, однако Мамант предстал перед ними, восседая на льве. С тех пор лев стал символом святого.

Как в случае с Андреем Первозванным, про святого Маманта Кессарийского есть легенды во многих регионах Европы, в том числе и на Кипре. Согласно кипрской традиции, Мамант жил отшельником в пещере около Морфу. Позже, в средневековое время, здесь основали храм в его честь.

Монастырь апостола Варнавы (Monastery of Saint Barnabas)

В отличии от предыдущих христианских деятелей, апостол Варнава неразрывно связан с Кипром. Варнава родился в семье евреев-левитов, вероятно, в кипрском Саламине. Приняв христианство, Варнава стал апостолом. Вероятно, на Кипре он и скончался.

Спустя полтысячелетия мощи святого обнаружили кипрские священнослужители, которые воздвигли храм в честь апостола. Ещё спустя тысячу лет здание сильно перестроили, в таком виде оно дошло до нашего времени. После трагедии 1974 года монахи покинули обитель. Святыня стала археологическим музеем.

Святыни апостола Андрея, святого Маманта и апостола Варнавы — три главных православных памятника, расположенные к северу от Зелёной линии. Теперь перейдём к храмам, находящимся на контролируемой территории: в свободных территориях Фамагусты.

Монастырь Айя-Напа (Monastery Ayia Napa)

В самом центре туристического городка Айя-Напы среди отелей и молодёжных баров располагается заброшенный средневековый монастырь. Он популярен не только потому, что до него можно быстро добраться — до святыни можно доехать на автобусе практически из любого города острова, а также пешком из близлежащих отелей — но и тем, что сохранился в первоначальном виде!

Монастырь Айя-Напа построен венецианцами в XIV-XV веках. Святыня была католической и располагалась, вероятно, на месте древнего языческого храма.
В турецкое время монастырь передали православным священникам. Этому не стоит удивляться, так как османская власть после завоевания острова стала целенаправленно поддерживать православную церковь в её борьбе с католической. Однако позже православные монахи покинули храм.

Отдельно стоит отметить, что монастырь Айя-Напа можно посещать в любое время года, и даже в жаркие летние дни, когда поездка в другие святыни может стать тяжёлым испытанием. В святыне расположены портики, есть фонтан и деревья, поэому от палящего солнца всегда можно скрыться.

Церковь Агион Анаргирон (Agioi Anargyroi Church)

Церковь Агион-Анаргирон является самой молодой святыней в нашей сегодняшнем списке. Она построена чуть меньше 40 лет назад на полуострове Каво-Греко недалеко от Айя-Напы и Протараса. Церковь расположена напротив крутого обрыва и пещеры, где по местной легенде обитали святые Косма и Дамиан.

Косма и Дамиан, или как они были известны на Руси — Кузьма и Демьян, были братьями-целителями. Согласно христианской традиции, они врачевали и спасали жизни смертельно больным людям, при этом никогда не брали плату за свой труд. За это их прозвали ἀνάργυροι, теми, кто не берёт платы.

Храм Агион-Анаргирон построен в популярном греческом церковном стиле — белые стены, голубые двери, окна и крыша. К слову, такой стиль не часто встречается на острове. Возможно поэтому, благодаря композиции цветов самого строения и морского пейзажа вокруг, Агион Анаргирон стала популярным местом для венчания туристов.

    1            Application of terms

    4            Your obligations

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
